Pike Place is a must-see if you're spending any time in Seattle. Lots of amazing food, local vendors, cute little shops, fresh produce, fragrant flowers, and men hurling giant salmon at each other (it's great). The infamous Gum Wall is right around the corner in Ghost Alley, the first Starbucks store is across the street, and it's within walking distance of the pier.
There are many good options for clam chowder in Seattle, but this is by far the best one. They've won tons of awards and routinely beat out New England in competitions on their home turf. There is usually a line and seating can be scarce, but this is WELL worth it.
Right in front of Pike Place Market and next to the first Starbucks. You'll smell the aroma of this Russian bakery long before you actually see its tiny storefront. They have savory and sweet options. Rachel's absolute favorite is their cardamom cinnamon braid.
The most iconic building in Seattle. It's a bit of a pricey visit, but the history of its construction is fascinating and the views from the top are stunning. If it's a cloudy/foggy/rainy day, it's not worth the money as the views will be limited.
