Promptly at 4pm in the Forest Theater in Armstrong Woods. Shuttles will be available for service by prior reservation of your seat starting at 3pm. The shuttle is required due to extremely limited parking at Armstrong Woods. Should you choose to park there, you will have to pay the $10 per car fee and the walk is approx .75 miles on a dirt path. EACH GUEST NEEDS THERE OWN RESERVATION FOR THE SHUTTLE. The reservation system we are using is by seat, so its a bit of a pain, but please work with us :-) Please sign up for your shuttle below: https://moonsturmwedding.setmore.com/
The Ceremony is located in a state park location, the Armstrong Woods Forest Theater - it is a dirt/rock pathway and all footwear should be appropriate. There is approximately a 100yd walk from the shuttle drop off to the seating area. Please note, the seats have no back, and will be wooden benches. But we promise, we wont make you sit through a crazy long ceremony and the location is beautiful! Basic restrooms are available. Still and sparkling water will be available for you during your time at the ceremony location. The ceremony should be well shaded for the duration of your time here. Please keep in mind, we are in the Russian River and it can be cool, especially in the redwoods, so a light cover is recommended.
Due to Armstrong Woods requirements, the shuttle service is mandatory. EACH GUEST NEEDS THEIR OWN RESERVATION FOR THE SHUTTLE. Please sign up for your shuttle using the link below: https://moonsturmwedding.setmore.com/ If you have a wheelchair, please let us know and we will do our best to get you to a parking spot closest to the ceremony. *this is NOT guaranteed - but they will try to work with us* The shuttle is a 24 person shuttle that will be bringing guests to and from the ceremony location and back. It’s nothing fancy but its a ten minute ride so its fine, right? :-P The start point, and reception location, is the Monte Rio Community Center. There is PLENTY of parking for your cars here. Please sign up for one of 4 shuttles, starting at 3pm, to the ceremony site. Shuttles back to the reception space are open seating and no prior action is needed. Please note, the ceremony site is a non-alcohol location, though water will be available. There are basic restrooms there as well. This is a state park so it’s nothing fancy, just an fyi.
Two words: Unlimited Tacos. We all know food is the most important thing anyways! There will be a vegetarian option for those that need it. We will start shuttling guests back from the ceremony site around 4:30pm. We encourage you to find your seats, drop all your stuff off, hit the bar for some beer/wine and then get started on some killer tacos. The Taco Bar will be open from 5pm-8pm and you can eat as many as you wish! During this time, once all the guests are back, all the usual stuff happens. First dance, speeches, some cake gets cut and dancing commences. If we are lucky, maybe we can get Dustin to do something slightly embarrassing. You all probably know we want a chill evening with our favorite people to just relax, hang out, eat, drink and maybe get a little silly. Bonus points for those that do our photo scavenger hunt!
To due limited space, we ask that only those listed on the invitation be present for our event. If someone shows up uninvited, feel free to bring a chair and a sandwich. Or be prepared to be chased off by a pet dinosaur (this makes sense later if you continue reading our FAQ section)
While we love all your littles, this is a 21+ only evening. We encourage you to enjoy the night to yourselves! Food babies, on the other hand, are encouraged.
We work in wine…of course! While we have chosen to remove hard alcohol for this evening, we would love to share our personal wine collection with you, as well as an assortment of beers and other tasty nonalcoholic options. Since there is alcohol present, it means all excuses of not being able to dance go out the window. We have a killer DJ and we expect you to put some of that liquid courage to use on the dance floor.
Russian River is an absolutely charming and safe area. However, it is quite rural. Uber/Lyft do not service this area. We recommend either spending the evening locally and or enjoying responsibly. Should you choose to carpool, please give major props to the driver. We know Monte Rio isnt super close to home for anyone and appreciate you making the trek just to celebrate with us.
Honestly, we want you to be comfortable and feel amazing. Cocktail, formal, a jedi robe, a harry potter robe, that ballgown that you’ve been meaning to wear but just haven’t had the chance to. It is your preference. Please wear appropriate shoes for a dirt path (we dont want any heels getting stuck!) or bring a change of shoes if you wish. Russian River tends to cool down and get foggy at night. A jacket may be needed for the evening hours. Please refrain from wearing white out of respect for the bride and to ensure the matron of honor doesn’t ‘accidentally’ still red wine on you. We are warning you now! :-P
We understand Sundays are work nights. While we know a lot of you work within hospitality, we want to be aware of everyone’s time and respectful of it. The event ends promptly at 9pm. By 9pm, we will want to hiding from people anyways so it seemed like a good balance.
As they say - the show goes on! Due to the nature of the ceremony site, tents are not allowed. Should rain be in the forecast, we will still hold the ceremony. Please wear proper attire, bring umbrellas and we will make it through it! Bonus points if you wear epic rain boots. If the rain scares you off and you only wish to come to the indoor reception, we understand. But what is life without a little rain :-)
While you know how much we love animals, please keep all pets at home. Should you require a certified ADA service animal to be present, please just let us know so we can keep our vendors informed. The only animals allowed will be pet dinosaurs. Armstrong woods looks like its out of the Jurassic Age and it would be appropriate. *note: refrain from major predatory dinosaur species as people getting eaten by pets is a real downer*
