For out of town guests, the most economical option is to fly into Minneapolis/St. Paul airport (MSP). The drive to Lake Shore is about 2.5 hours from MSP.  

You can rent a car onsite at the airport and can leave directly from there.

You also have the option to fly into the Brainerd Airport (BRD). If you are staying at the resort most of your trip, I can help arrange roundtrip airport transportation (or have family pick you up), so a car would not be needed.
