Portland Rose Garden
One of the most gorgeous parks in Portland, featuring great views of the city, thousands of varieties of roses, and free smells to boot! David and I used to live quite close and loved having picnics and playing tennis at the Rose Garden!
Departure Restaurant + Lounge
Departure has the most amazing Asian food and drinks, and the views are unreal. This is the perfect happy hour spot on a sunny day in Portland.
Hiking in the Gorge
Head east of Portland into the Columbia River Gorge for some AMAZING hiking. Multnomah Falls is the most popular hike, but for some less crowded options check out Angels Rest, Punchbowl Falls, or Beacon Rock.
Straight From New York Pizza West
Our very favorite pizza place in Portland!! It is not fancy, but the pizza is perfect. When we lived in NW Portland this was a short walk and our favorite place for a cheap dinner.
The Portland Waterfront
You can't take a trip to Portland without walking along the waterfront!! Enjoy the views of the Willamette River, walk across one of the many famous Portland bridges, or stop for a glass of wine or cocktail at one of the many restaurants.

Great beers, great food, enough said!
Japanese Garden
The Japanese Garden and the Rose Garden share a parking lot AND back up to Forest Park where you can enjoy a hike!!
Pok Pok NW
The most authentic Thai food outside of Thailand!! David is addicted to the chicken wings, and Rachel loves the papaya salad. There are a variety of different locations throughout Portland, but the one on Division is the original.
Oregon Zoo
Fun fact- Rachel and David agree that the most fun animals to watch at the zoo are the otters!!
Portland City Grill
One of our favorite date spots in Portland. The views are incredible, and we love the cocktails.
Lan Su Chinese Garden
The Lan Su Chinese Garden is a result of a collaboration between the cities of Portland and Suzhou, our sister city in China's Jiangsu province that's famous for its beautiful Ming Dynasty gardens. Lan Su was built by Chinese artisans from Suzhou and is one the most authentic Chinese gardens outside of China.
Salt & Straw
The most famous ice cream shop in Portland, known for their odd (but delicious) flavors. There are multiple locations throughout Portland!
Pittock Mansion
The Pittock Mansion makes a great hike through Forest Park (the largest urban park in the US!) from either SW or NW Portland. You can also drive and park and still get to admire the gorgeous views! You can pay to go inside, but, in our opinion, the building and views are better enjoyed for free!
Pine Street Market
There is something for everyone at Pine Street Market! It is a more upscale take on the famous Portland Food Trucks, with lots of different food options and a communal seating area.
