Yes! We kindly ask guests to wear formal attire (suit and tie & floor length dresses). We encourage bright summer colors and bold patterns! Ladies, please avoid white and beige colors. No shorts please.
This will be an adults only wedding, aside from Dale's two nieces who will be in the ceremony as our flower girls. The welcome party will also be adults only. We appreciate your understanding!
All guests invited to the wedding will have their name listed on the invitation. If your guest's name is not listed, unfortunately we cannot accommodate them. Thank you for understanding!
The ceremony and cocktail hour will both take place outside on the Magpie Terrace, unless there is rain. We will move indoors for the reception with full access to the terrace area all night.
The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm, so please plan to arrive and be seated by 4:15. If you choose not to stay at the Cliff Lodge during wedding weekend, please be mindful of canyon traffic from Oktoberfest on Saturday afternoon. There is complimentary valet service for wedding day or self-parking all weekend for hotel guests. Please look out for signage directing guests to the Boe-Payne Wedding. Please Uber/Lyft if you plan to consume alcohol.
For those coming from sea level, please note that Snowbird is located at 8,100 feet elevation. Please be aware of altitude change which can cause dehydration, dizziness, and fatigue. For those planning to consume alcohol, please stay hydrated throughout the weekend and be mindful of alcohol consumption. Hydration stations will be provided throughout the weekend during wedding events. For those prone to altitude sickness, please consider arriving in Salt Lake City early to allow your body to acclimate or purchase altitude sickness medication to bring with you. We want everyone to enjoy themselves throughout wedding weekend!
Yes, please! You will be asked to select a dinner entree with your RSVP. All other allergies and dietary restrictions should be noted at this point. The chicken option is dairy free and gluten free, and the steak and mushroom bolognese options are gluten free.
Guests are encouraged to stay at the Snowbird Cliff Lodge where all wedding events will take place. Please see the travel tab for room block information. There are other hotels at the base of the Cottonwood Canyons (Courtyard Marriott or Hyatt in Cottonwood Heights), but we will not be providing transportation to and from the wedding to other hotels on wedding day. Please be aware that for the Cliff Spa welcome day event, there will be a $60+ day pass charge per person for entry to the pool and sauna area. Entry is free only for hotel guests.
Yes! There are several restaurants at Snowbird, including the Aerie and SeventyOne in the Cliff Lodge. The Atrium Cafe in the Cliff Lodge serves to-go breakfast and coffee from 7-11 am daily. There are also sit-down restaurants and to-go options at the Snowbird Center, including the Forklift (sit-down breakfast and lunch), Baked & Brewed Cafe (baked goods & coffee), Tram Car Pizza, the Birdfeeder (lunch), and the Steak Pit (dinner). The Snowbird Oktoberfest (open Saturday and Sunday from 11 am-5 pm) also offers snack and meal options upon entry.
We ask that all guests silence and put away their phones throughout the entire ceremony. Our photographer will be shooting throughout the day, and we are happy to share the professional ceremony photos with guests once we receive them. Guests are welcome to take photos prior to the beginning of the ceremony, and throughout the rest of the evening. We appreciate your understanding!
Yes! Please bring your ID to any wedding event in which you plan to consume alcohol. Utah law requires that anyone ordering an alcoholic beverage present a valid ID each time. Snowbird will refuse to serve anyone without their ID.
