Rachel's dear friend had a dilemma: to go to a birthday party or not. Her friend decided to attend, but on one condition: Rachel had to go too. The same night, Colin's sister dragged him to DC where he found himself just a few barstools away from Rachel.
Shortly after they met, Rachel took the train from DC to Baltimore for their first date. Only a week later, Rachel was back on the train to Baltimore for their second data where she impressed Colin with her appetite for beer and pizza. They had so much fun, Rachel missed her train back to DC. Without giving a second thought, Colin drove Rachel all the way back.
For two years Colin and Rachel spent their weekends on the train or in the car on their way to visit each other.
After two years of crossing state borders every weekend, Colin and Rachel moved into their first apartment in Kalorama. They enjoyed game nights on their rooftop with a panoramic view of the city, walking to dinner, meeting up at happy hour on their way home from work, and finallllly no more commuting!!
Two months later, the world shut down. Colin and Rachel worked side by side in their 500 SqFt apartment sharing a desk. Space was so tight their desk chairs backed up against the fridge, which made cooking an acrobatic task, so they thought... let's get a dog!
6 months before Colin and Rachel's 3-year anniversary, Colin curated the perfect engagement ring. He planned the perfect proposal... until Rachel threw a wrench in his plans by booking a trip to Miami. Colin quickly regrouped but, unfortunately, he got COVID and had to pivot once again.
Take three! Colin planned a surprise date day as he had done many times before. He took Rachel and Kalo to the Constitutional Gardens where he got down on one knee. Rachel was overwhelmed with happiness she did not even realize a photographer was there to capture the special moment. Shortly after Colin proposed. Colin and Rachel’s friends joined them for a champagne toast before they made their way to Navy Yard to board a boat Colin had secretly chartered. Not long after Colin and Rachel got comfortable on the water, Rachel’s sister, Reilly, Colin’s sister, Lauren, and both their parents emerged from the gally. The families soon to be united enjoyed a full day on the water. #MrRightFoundMrsWhite
