Along with Rachel and Brent, the venue will be doing its best to keep all guests safe and comfortable during this joyous day. Jacob Henry Mansion has updated and enhanced cleaning protocols to ensure the safety of attendees. Additionally, we completely respect those who choose to wear masks at our wedding, but they will not be mandatory for guests. If there are any updates or changes to these procedures, we will notify guests through the website.
While we love your little ones, our wedding is mostly going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. Unless otherwise noted, we appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time and leaving the kids at home so you can celebrate with us.
We want everyone to be themselves, but are hoping for cocktail attire. Be comfortable, though, because we'll be dancing the night away! The ceremony will take place outside (grassy area with paver walkways), so take that into consideration as well.
Please know that your presence on our special day is the greatest present of all! However, if you do wish to celebrate with a gift, we will be adding some items to a registry, which can be found by clicking the “Registry” navigation tab.
Our food service is family style, including several entree and side options. If you have specific dietary restrictions or needs, please let Rachel or Brent know directly.
There will be shuttle transportation from the Wingate and Harrah's Casino to the Jacob Henry Mansion, where both the ceremony and reception are taking place. Please visit the "Travel" section for information about the shuttles. If you are driving yourself to the wedding, there is a parking lot located on Richards Street adjacent to the Victorian Ballroom. Set your GPS to 15 Richards St, Joliet, IL 60433. There is additional parking on Eastern Avenue, if you enter "Jacoby Henry Mansion" into your GPS.
We will have a series a finger foods and small bites during the cocktail hour. For dinner, we are serving salads and family style pot roast, roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, and rotini pasta. And save room for dessert - we will have a dessert table set up by Fabulously Sweet Creations, a female-owned Mokena business!
