If you're planning to arrive at the Sacramento airport on Friday afternoon 6/14 before the welcome dinner (we recommend booking a flight that arrives between 12-4 pm), we will likely be able to provide you with a ride. We can also arrange a ride for you from Nevada City to the Sacramento airport on Sunday 6/16 after brunch. Please email us if you're interested in getting a ride. Note that if you won’t have a car you should find a b&b in downtown Nevada City. You may also choose between a rental car or a SuperShuttle for transportation from the airport. Public transportation, Lyft and Uber may not be reliably available. There are many rental car options and we recommend shopping around for the best price. SuperShuttle (https://www.supershuttle.com/locations/sacramento-smf/) offers deals on group transportation. The fare for an Exclusive Van round-trip (up to 7 passengers) is $266. If you are able to coordinate with other travelers, your round-trip cost could be less than $40.
Limited availability as of winter 2019. For this reason, we recommend that guests who are not planning to rent a car book a hotel or B&B in downtown Nevada City, within walking distance of the wedding venue -- Gold Creek Inn.
An incomplete list: the Eastern Sierras (Benton Hot Springs, Mono Lake, Bodie) and Yosemite National Park (Tioga Pass, Tenaya Lake, Mariposa Grove). San Francisco, Wine Country, Tahoe, Mt. Shasta and southern Oregon (Crater Lake National Park) are awesome too! Email us with ANY questions!
Dragonfly Salon and Gallery of Arts (530-265-2096) and Bel Capelli Salon (https://www.belcapellisalonspa.com/) are both within walking distance of the venue. You should definitely book well in advance, as it's a small town and the height of wedding season!
We expect the temperature to be warm in the afternoon (highs 80-90°F) and cool in the evening (low 50°F). Humidity is uncommon in Northern California, the highs of the day will be a dry heat and the lows will be chilly.
Cocktail/formal attire, but keep in mind the wedding is outdoors. We suggest wearing or changing into shoes that will be comfortable on uneven ground or grass. The temperature will be warm in the afternoon and likely dip in the evening, so you may want to bring a jacket or wrap.
