The two met within the lively group of music students at Saint Charles community college. The group spent countless hours together through classes, rehearsals and concerts after hours and Braden and Rachel had their eye on each other through it all. A friend noticed and sent a hint to Braden about Rachel’s interest. Braden says all he needed was a green light so he took it! They hit it off immediately talking for hours on end then called it official after a few days and soon the pair became inseparable.

After being together for nearly five years, Braden was determined to surprise Rachel, even though she knew that a proposal was imminent. Braden got the ring earlier than expected, which gave him the perfect opportunity to propose a full week before their anniversary. He had the idea to do it at a nearby park where they often walked their dog, Tilly. In the middle of one of these walks, Braden got down on one knee and asked Rachel if she would marry him. Rachel, of course, said yes. She then noticed their friend Daniel hiding behind the trees to capture the moment. They had planned a 5 year anniversary camping trip that made for the perfect engagement celebration.
