Ben and Rachel met at your typical Federal Hill house party while living in Baltimore City. Ben was the self-appointed bartender and Rachel just so happened to need a drink. It may have been love at first sight for Ben, but Rachel was a bit tougher to crack. Unfortunately for Ben, his phone was the first one to crack that night, while trying to get Rachel’s phone number. Rachel left the party not knowing she just rejected her future husband trying to get her number. Despite Rachel playing hard to get, their paths kept crossing and they started a great friendship. Eventually, that turned into a romance, which has spanned over 4 years, moving cities, adopting a cat, and traveling the world.
For their fourth anniversary, Ben planned a happy hour and dinner in Bethesda. He suggested that some of their close friends join them for the happy hour part of the evening. Rachel thought it was slightly weird to have friends join for an anniversary, but Ben was planning it so she shrugged it off. The group ended up changing tables three times, to get the table outside on the roof of the bar, Hipflask. There was a beautiful view of Bethesda, MD, with the sun setting. As they were enjoying happy hour, someone asked the waiter to take our photo. While Rachel was turned towards the camera, Ben got out the ring. When she turned back, Ben proposed, leaving Rachel in utter shock! After asking Ben if he was kidding, Rachel said yes! The surprises continued after their anniversary dinner and throughout the weekend, with friends and family. We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you.
