Our Story

Our first interaction with one another was on an online dating app. He was the first one to reach out to me. I was so excited because I knew there was something spectacular about him. He was different from everyone else. Very quickly after we started talking, I asked him if he has ever been to Bentleyville before and he said no. So, I suggested that he "had to go!". I'm obsessed with Christmas, so I was very excited to go there with him. He picked me up on 12/14/2019 and we went all the way to Duluth to see the Christmas light display. Getting into a car with a complete stranger was a risk, but it was a risk I was happy taking. We talked the whole way up there (which was so awesome, due to my horrible experiences in the past). It was very cold that night but that didn't seem to bother us because we ended up walking around twice! After that we left to head back to the cities. We ended up talking again the whole way back and even saw a few shooting stars! Once we got back to my place, he got out of the car to give me a hug goodbye and like a true gentleman he asked if he could kiss me. I of course said yes! I felt like a princess that night. Got a kiss goodbye and was home before midnight. Just like my favorite Disney princess Cinderella. From then on, we went on a few more dates and things really kicked off from there. We had so much in common and we both were looking for something serious. Fast forward 2 years it now 12/14/2021 we took another trip back to Duluth to go see Bentleyville. It was a thing for us to go see as many lights as we could that winter. Once we got to Bentleyville it was pretty busy. We ended up in a crowd of people and all of a sudden Andy starts making conversation with one of the workers there. I didn't suspect anything of it since he has always been the social butterfly. Well, the worker said, "they were pretty slow" and offered to take us to the big Christmas tree in the middle of Bentleyville. I was super excited. I thought I was getting a "VIP" tour. Once we got inside the tree, I was so mesmerized by all the lights I wasn't paying any attention to what was happening around me. I all of a sudden felt Andy grab my hand and I turned around and he dropped down on one knee, presented me with a ring, and asked me to marry him. I was full of emotions, my eyes filled with happy tears, and I don't even know what he ended up saying to me. Everything around me felt like it disappeared and all I could see was him. I definitely said YES!!! Later that evening was when we decided that we wanted to get married on 12/14/2024.
