FAQs

The Wedding Website of Alex Moger and Rachel Weilbacker
Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Guests should arrive between 4:00–4:30 PM to allow time for shuttle to ceremony site. The venue spans 50 acres, and the ceremony garden is not within walking distance of the parking lot. A golf cart shuttle will be provided to transport all guests from the parking area up to the ceremony site. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. Guests who arrive late are welcome to join us after the ceremony for the cocktail hour starting at 5:30 PM. Please see the “Schedule” tab for more details on the day’s timeline.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Yes, there is a dress code. We kindly request our guests to dress in formal attire. For women, we suggest elegant floor-length or mid-length dresses, while men are encouraged to wear dark-colored suits paired with ties. We respectfully ask that guests avoid casual clothing and jeans, as well as colors such as mauve or dark rose. If you have any questions or would like further clarification, please feel free to reach out.

Question

Can my child or infant attend?

Answer

While we truly love your children, this will be an adults-only celebration, with the exception of the flower girl in the wedding party. We are unable to accommodate infants or children of any age. The venue and nature of the evening are not suited for children, and this decision is intended to ensure the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of all guests. We’re so grateful for your understanding and for making arrangements. To be fair and consistent to all guests, we are unable to make exceptions. Only those listed on your invitation or included on the "RSVP" tab will be allowed into the venue. Unfortunately, this means that anyone arriving with extra guests will not be permitted to attend the celebration. We completely understand if this decision makes it difficult for you to join us, and we will truly miss celebrating together if that’s the case.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We can only accommodate those listed on your invitation or included on the "RSVP" tab. Extra guests will not be permitted to attend the celebration. Thank you for your understanding.

Question

Photography / Social Media

Answer

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking photos or videos during the ceremony. This is a deeply meaningful moment for us, and we hope to keep it as intimate and private as possible, without the distraction of phones or cameras. We’ve hired a professional photographer and videographer to thoughtfully capture the day, and personal devices can unintentionally disrupt and impact the quality of those photos and videos. Your presence and full attention mean the world to us as we exchange our vows and begin this new chapter together. Additionally, we respectfully request that guests refrain from posting any photos or videos of the event on social media until we’ve had the chance to share our own. It would be deeply disappointing and genuinely upsetting for our first memories to be made public before we’ve had the opportunity to share them ourselves. We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us keep this moment private, intimate, and special. Thank you so much for respecting our wishes.

Question

RSVP / Change of plans

Answer

Please let us know your plans no later than August 1 by searching your name on our "RSVP" tab, as we will have to turn in final numbers to our vendors. If you RSVP “yes” but your plans suddenly change, please let us know as soon as possible. We truly appreciate early notice, as it becomes more difficult to adjust with our vendors as the date approaches.

Question

What if I have a food allergy or dietary restriction?

Answer

When you RSVP, please let us know if you have any food allergies and/or dietary restrictions, and we will do our best to accommodate them.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please see the "Travel" tab for details.

Question

Where will the ceremony and reception be located?

Answer

The ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outdoors, so please dress accordingly. The reception will follow in a closed, heated tent to ensure everyone’s comfort.

Question

Will there be transportation to and from Sonnenberg Gardens?

Answer

Unfortunately, we cannot provide transportation to and from the event. There are ride share drivers in the area, such as Uber and Lyft, for your convenience. If ride shares are your mode of transportation for the wedding, we recommend reserving in advance, as driver availability may be limited in this small town.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes, there will be an open bar serving wine, beer, a signature cocktail, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. We can’t wait to celebrate with you! (Please note: liquor will not be available.)

Question

Is smoking or vaping permitted on the premises?

Answer

In accordance with venue policy, the smoking or vaping of any substance is not permitted on the property; however, a designated smoking area is located near the Carriage House. Please feel free to ask a Sonnenberg staff member for directions.
