Rachel and Alex met in Tel Aviv after Rachel’s roommate introduced them. They clicked instantly, and Rachel soon found herself falling for Alex’s British charm … along with everything else about him. At the time, Rachel knew she would soon be leaving Israel to start graduate school in New York. With that reality looming, they tried to enjoy the time they had together, knowing that it was limited. When Rachel moved to Albany and Alex returned to London, they said goodbye, thinking that it may be the end of their story. But it wasn’t. They stayed in touch, and somewhere between long phone calls and flights across the ocean, it became clear that what they had was worth the distance. Visits between London and New York became a regular part of their lives. During one of Rachel’s trips to London, Alex proposed at the Harry Potter Studio - a perfectly magical place to start their next chapter! Their engagement turned into a long-distance saga as they navigated immigration and spent years traveling between London, Albany, Tel Aviv, Rochester, and anywhere they could be together. Eventually Alex was able to move to the United States, and the two were married at the courthouse so they could finally start their life together in the same place. After years of loving each other across time zones and continents, they are thrilled to celebrate their marriage with family and friends.
