Our families have been friends for longer than we've been in the picture! The Wohlgemuth's and Wuestenberg's are almost interchangeable in some people's minds, so Nathan and I have been in each others' life since birth. Growing up I never imagined we would end up together. It wasn't until my freshman year of high school that things started to change for me. In the spring of my sophomore year I realized those feelings were reciprocated. Nathan says that my feelings were blatantly obvious but I like to think that I maybe stayed oblivious to all the feelings for awhile. That summer after sophomore year we went on many group dates with friends. The fall of junior year, Nathan asked for my dad's permission to take me on a date, as you might have guessed...he said yes! Our first date was to Perkins and a movie on 10/08/2018. We continued dating throughout my time at high school. After high school, I went to UNI for college and Nathan went to ISU so we dated long distance for a few years. During this time we learned a lot and grew in our love for each other. Our college experience was marked by many FaceTime calls and trips between Cedar Falls and Ames. For our four year anniversary we went ring shopping together so Nathan could get an idea of what I wanted. Shortly after (and I mean shortly...like literally the next day), Nathan went back and picked up the ring. On 12/16/2022 Nathan proposed! We went out for lunch and then back to his parents house in Maxwell where he made me open an "early Christmas present" and he got down on one knee! We went out again for dinner and when we came back he "surprised" me with a party with our friends...I may or may not have known the whole plan but I loved it regardless!
