Terry and Rachael both attended the same church back in 2022! Terry was a long-time member of the church, as well as a member of the Praise Team at that time, while Rachael was still finding her footing and getting familiar with the church itself. It wasn't until April 2023 that Rachael decided to join the church, as well as the Young Adult Ministry, in the same month. Without knowing, Terry also joined the Young Adult Ministry at the same time! They met at a Young Adult Game night when one of Terry's friends introduced them to each other. Instantly, Terry and Rachael became friends. They talked and texted constantly. April 23rd, 2023, both Terry and Rachael decided to get baptized and fully surrender their lives to Christ. In June 2023, Rachael started to grow distant towards Terry and everyone around her. She had begun experiencing spiritual warfare, which caused her to leave the church for 3 months with no contact. Terry knew by this time that he had liked Rachael but kept it to himself. He prayed over Rachael while she was gone, asking God to reveal Himself to her. Rachael spent time reflecting in isolation with herself and God during this time. Trying to understand who He really was to her and how to wholeheartedly do better to please Him. The bible says in Luke 9:23, "And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross DAILY, and follow me". Matthew 16:25 "For whoever wishes to save his life [in this world] will [eventually] lose it [through death], but whoever loses his life [in this world] for my sake will find it [that is, life with Me for all eternity]. So that's what she did. She began to fully surrender herself and her sinful habits to Christ to better please Him so He could clean and renew her from the inside out. It wasn't easy at all, but she trusted the Lord. When Rachael came back in August, she was different. Terry immediately noticed. The Lord spoke to him, revealing that Rachael was his wife. He prayed that the Lord would reveal it to her as well. They talked on the phone constantly and hung out after church events, having endless car talks and learning more about each other every day. In late November, after finishing grief recovery together, Terry finally told Rachael how he felt. Rachael said she felt the same but wanted to take things slowly. Terry agreed. He later learned Rachael had been abstinent for more than three years, and her last relationship ended in 2020. Together, they took it slow. January 25th, 2024, Terry asked Rachael to be his girlfriend, and of course, Rachael cried and said yes! Since then, they've been inseparable and have grown closer to God and each other more than they could have ever imagined. They've been traveling the world together and taking trips to Columbus, South Carolina, Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia so far! Terry and Rachael both agreed in the early stages of dating that they would remain abstinent, as well as save their first kiss for when they got to the altar, saying, "I do.” July 25th, 2025, Terry proposed to Rachael on the beach at sunset. Rachael claims she knew it was going to happen, but Terry to this day still doesn't believe her. The proposal went exactly how Terry knew Rachael wanted it to go! Being on a beach at sunset in the midst of summer, on a beautiful lake, surrounded by all of our loved ones and friends. Terry has always been a man who listens and executes. In the words of Rachael, "He's a built-in planner". God has been so good to them and has shown them miracle after miracle in their lives together and individually.
