Our Story

Schyler and Rachael met in graduate school at Florida State University in the fall of 2018. They took classes together, but in all honesty Rachael was intimidated by Schyler and they rarely spoke.

It wasn't until September 2019, when they hit it off at a birthday party that they got to know each other. They began spending time together, going on dates, and in November they took a camping trip.

They had a blast. They shared their love of camping and the outdoors and got to see fall leaves in Georgia.

Even though they had a good trip, neither of them were in a place for a relationship at the time and they broke things off.

This didn't last long, as the universe seemed to push them back together. Even the dating apps tried to tell them they were "most compatible"! We laughed when we learned we'd each screenshotted it.

It was now fall 2020, and they decided to give it another chance. With COVID in full swing, they began doing all sorts of outdoor activities together.

They spent a lot of nights road cruising for snakes and all sorts of other critters in Apalachicola National Forest.

They worked and read books in hammocks in the live oaks along the banks of Dog Lake. This would be where they made their relationship official on September 8th.

And they began spending time underwater together too!

And the rest is history!

They've spent the past few years exploring and adventuring.

Traveling all over the US and across the world, including Brazil (shown here), US Virgin Islands, Bonaire, Puerto Rico, and New Zealand.

Schyler became Lily's dad, falling in love with the tiny, talkative ball of fur.

They've continued sharing their love of the ocean and enjoying the quiet moments together underwater exploring the world below.

And they've continued camping in the fall every year since 2019.

Including a trip to Catoctin Mountain Park in October 2025...

where they got engaged!
