My mother asked me one night when I was 26, when I would stop wasting time going out with the girls and spend time and go on some serious dates and find a nice man to settle down with. I laughed and told her “it won’t be like for me, dating with strangers is akward. When it’s my time—i’ll just be walking and BOOM! I’m going to meet the man I’m supposed to be with and it will all work out from there.” My mother was so annoyed by this conversation and said it was ridiculous to think it worked like that. Pelipe Torres taught me about me the Bible and how to trust in God’s will. My faith in God has always been strong and even in what seemed like a silly conversation to me, I knew love was patient and kind and would come when it was my time.... The very next week, I was walking in stilettoes on a cobblestone sidewalk in Shockoe Bottom, Richmond, VA going to get pizza with my friend Tasha when I tripped and before I could fall, Ronell Ellis Evans Jr caught me, made me laugh, gave me a rose and the rest is history. He is the only man I have been with since that day March 21, 2010 and Nine Years and Two days later we will marry & celebrate with all those who celebrate our love and love us back!
