We met through what Rachael refers to as the “jankiest dating app.” After messaging through the app for roughly a week, Nathan asked to take Rachael on a date at Screen Door restaurant in downtown Portland. They met on a Friday evening at 6:30 and talked until 10:00! After deciding they should let the restaurant staff leave, they said their goodnights. Upon arriving to their homes and further communication, they decided to go on an early morning hike. Rachael met Nathan in Wilsonville and there, they drove together to Silver Falls State Park. The hike was beautiful, conversation was easy, the company was even better. After the hike, they enjoyed a lunch together in Silverton before driving back to Wilsonville. Rachael knew it would be a week before she could see Nathan again, so she invited him to the candlelight Christmas service at her church. After the Christmas week was over and Nathan was back in town, Nathan took Rachael on a New Year’s Eve date where they enjoyed dinner and a night at the symphony. The following day was spent together in Cannon Beach and driving along the Oregon Coast. Over the next couple of months, Nathan and Rachael grew their relationship in person and over FaceTime (morning Bible study and prayer.) It wasn’t long before they knew that the other person was the one God has designed for them to marry. On February 13th, Nathan proposed to Rachael at Noble Woods Park where she said, “Yes, a thousand times over.” Six days later, Nathan and Rachael got married in a small and intimate ceremony… and now it’s time to party with ALL of our friends and family!
