It all started with some innocent conversation on a dating app, to Mitchell making a phone call, then a first date. We agreed to meet in Bishop Arts District at a cute restaurant, we quickly learned we both loved food just as much as sharing it with one another. When Rachael found out there was a pie shop near, she asked Mitch to go with her after...Ever since dessert, we have been sweet on each other.
We had been planning our birthday trip and decided to go to NY! Rachael was turning the big 3-0 and Mitch's birthday is just a couple of weeks after hers. The plan was to attend a Broadway show, hear the NY philharmonic and then enjoy some awesome pizza. Mitch had been hinting that I wouldn't have a "boyfriend" when I turned 30. Which that in itself led me to wonder if this guy was dumping me. 😳 I had made Mitch promise to not propose on the birthday weekend, because I was already emotional about turning 30. (silly, I know) Fast forward to the arrival of NY, and the checking into our hotel room. We quickly got ready for an awesome steakhouse reservation, when I realized that I had forgotten all my jewelry. Mitch, smoothly said, "You can open your birthday present now then." I said, "Now?" He then allowed me to have the option of either opening it up there or the restaurant, which immedaitley made me ask, "it's not an engagement ring, right?!" He promised it wasn't . I then asked if I was going to get teary eyed... he said maybe. Oh goodness- I thought what is he up to. He decided it was best to open it up there, and I was sure it was a ring- but nope! It was this amazing emerald necklace that is stunning!!! I was shocked... then it gets better. He just kind of casually said, "It will match the other piece"... and said, "I love you and William, and I want us to be a family." Then he got down on one knee... I was in shock at this point and kept saying no,no,no... you promised! lol He asked, and course I said yes!!!How could anyone say anything else to Mitchell Curtis. There were lots of tears. He topped me turning 30 by proposing. We laugh at that because the events of that weekend were incredible but nothing compared to getting engaged to the love of my life.
