We're getting married!

According to Michele: We met at a social held for Brown and RISD student affairs admin. We didn't talk for long because I had a broken arm (rugby) and I wasn't interested in socializing much....I also thought Rachael worked as RISD and wasn't super interested in meeting new people. A few weeks after the social, I figured out Rachael worked at Brown and started working with her on various projects. Months later, we started hanging out outside of work within a group of friends, sparks started to fly, and the rest is history. According to Rachael: I had been at Brown for about 2 months when I went to a happy hour social at the VP of Student Affairs house. I saw Michele with a broken arm, white shirt, purple tie (yes I remember). I sat down next to her and started a conversation excited that there was another youngish, athletic, queer person at the social. She talked to me for about 2 seconds and then introduced me to her colleague and walked away, I was officially blown off....don't worry you all know how the story ends ;)

According to Michele: We went to surprise Kathryn (she's in the wedding party!), for her 30th birthday in LA. We started the trip by renting a tiny AirStream Airbnb (lovingly called the "Love Egg" by the owners) right outside of Joshua Tree to celebrate my birthday which is the day before Kathryn's. After a day of hiking Joshua Tree, while resting at the Love Egg, listening to music, and goofing around, I knelt down on my knee, asked Rachael to marry me, to which she emphatically said yes. According to Rachael: We were living long distance with Michele in NC and me in RI. We went on a trip to California for a long weekend to celebrate Michele’s birthday and surprise her friend for her 30th birthday. Michele and I started the trip with a stay in Joshua Tree National Park just the two of us. I was sure we would not get engaged on this trip but Brittanny told me to make my nails look presentable just in case. After hiking all day in the park with nothing happening I knew I was right, no proposal on this trip. We were relaxing in the early evening, I was in the hammock and Michele inside the Love Egg (if you want to see it, check on the photos page). Michele came out of the trailer got on one knee and asked me to marry her, of course I said yes.
