Settle the great debate for yourself...Pat's or Geno's. Remember, it's "Wiz wit"
Our personal favorite (RIP Jim's). If you travel here for a cheesesteak, stroll up and down South street for some fun and unique shopping and if pizza is more your thing a few blocks south is Lorenzo and Sons with slices the size of your head.
Open since 1860, McGillians is the oldest continuously operating tavern in Philadelphia and one of the oldest taverns in the country. It's also a really good time. It is one of our favorite Sunday Funday spots, and they offer karaoke on Sundays. This bar can get quite crowded late night, and the food is just ok, but the atmosphere is always a blast, especially this time of year. Their Christmas decor is over the top! So grab a beer in one of the oldest bar's in the country.
Running since 1893, and a National Historic Landmark building, this is one of America's largest and oldest public markets. Not only can you make some really unique purchases here, but the food and restaurant selection is amazing. Check out Tommy DiNic's roast beef for a great sandwich. Open daily from 8am-6pm.
"Yo Adrian, I did it!" Come run the stairs like Rocky, and take a picture by his statue. We know he's a fictional character, don't question it, just go with it.
Not so well known gem in Philly, but Rachael's personal favorite must see for anyone who likes things a little weird. A Museum of medical history, the Mütter Museum displays collections of anatomical specimens, models, and medical instruments in a nineteenth-century "cabinet museum" setting. The goal of the Museum is to help visitors understand the mysteries and beauty of the human body and appreciate the history of diagnosis and treatment of disease. Not for those with a weak stomach.
