A Nuptial Mass is a specific Mass celebrated for the bride and groom. "...the celebration of marriage between two Catholic faithful normally takes place during Holy Mass, because of the connection of all the sacraments within the Paschal mystery of Christ" (CCC 1621) The marriage ceremony takes place within the Mass because just as we have a covenantal relationship with Christ, in which He became incarnate, died for us, and gives Himself fully to us in the Eucharist, a man and a wife give completely of themselves to one another. The Sacrament of Marriage is sacrificial, therefore it is fitting that we offer our lives to each other in union with Christ's sacrifice for us in Mass.
Cocktail Attire — we'd love for you to get dressed up with us! For the men, we recommend a suit or a dress shirt with a tie. For the women, a midi or knee length dress or dressy separates are welcome. Fun colors, patterns, and textures are encouraged! Please avoid wearing jeans or white dresses.
Please RSVP no later than July 2nd, 2025!
The time between the ceremony and the reception is affectionately called the "Catholic Gap." The drive from the church to the reception venue is between 30 and 40 minutes depending on traffic. On the way, feel free to stop for coffee, grab a snack, or check into your hotel. We can't wait to dance the night away with you! When you arrive at the venue for cocktail hour, there will be outdoor games, light bites, as well as beer and wine available.
Please arrive to St John the Baptist no later than fifteen minutes prior to Mass. This will allow plenty of time to park and be seated.
At this time, the couple requests that only those listed on the invitation or the RSVP attend the reception. If there are any concerns, please reach out to the bride or groom.
