Jeff and I knew each other growing up in the same town. We reconnected during our college years while working together at a banquet hall and restaurant - he was a bartender and I was a waitress and assistant to bridal parties. After a few year of working together and getting to know each other through mutual friends, we began dating in 2015. The rest is history!
Jeff and I had been together for 8 years, filled with countless memories and shared experiences. One weekend, we joined our friends on a trip to Cape Cod. Although the weather was not your typical nice Cape weather, it didn’t dampen our spirits. On the second evening, a “friend” suggested we take a walk along the beach before dinner. I wasn’t thrilled about the idea because it was so windy, and the sand kept blowing in my face. Determined to protect my look, I used an umbrella. However, a friend soon took it away from me, insisting it wasn’t working and they didn’t want to break it. With the umbrella gone, I hid under Jeff’s sweater to shield myself from the wind. As we walked I had no idea where Jeff was walking. Suddenly, he stopped in a secluded spot with the ocean behind us. Still partially hidden under his sweater, I looked up to find Jeff trying to pull something out of his pocket. Before he could propose , I yelled at him in disbelief about what he was going to say and give me. With a heartfelt smile, he asked me to marry him, saying he couldn’t imagine spending his life with anyone else. Overwhelmed with joy and emotion, i said yes. Our friends who had been hiding nearby to capture the moment, cheered and celebrated with us. Despite the cold and windy weather, it was a magical evening, marking the new beginning of a new and beautiful chapter in our lives.
