FAQs

In light of the pandemic, we have updated our FAQ page (as of June 15) to provide more information and to help address any potential concerns. Please feel free to reach out to Dave or Rachael at any time (Rachael's Cell: 609-306-5946).
Question

Is the wedding definitely happening on July 31?

Answer

YES, with modifications! Per the guidelines released by the State of Maryland, "Outdoor ceremonies and receptions do not have capacity restrictions" as of June 12. See the full FAQ page at this link: https://commerce.maryland.gov/Documents/BusinessResource/FAQs_Social%20Gatherings_final.pdf

Question

Will you be implementing social distancing at the wedding?

Answer

YES! Our ceremony and reception will take place outside in the garden area and the covered stone patio (with air conditioning). The mansion itself will be open for the bathroom and cocktail hour, but guests may chose to spend the entire time outside if they are more comfortable. The full capacity of Rockfield Manor is 175 people, not even counting the outdoor garden area, and we only anticipate about 60-80 guests will attend. This means we have plenty of extra space available! We will only be seating 6 people per table (instead of the usual 8-10), and tables will be spaced out more significantly than usual. Extra cleaning & sanitizing procedures are in place prior to and during the wedding. Additionally, there are 5 antibacterial stations around the manor.

Question

Are masks required?

Answer

While the State of Maryland does not mandate the use of masks at this time, we would like to strongly encourage that masks be worn INSIDE the mansion. When guests are outside on the patio and in the garden area, masks will be optional. We kindly ask that all guests be respectful of the fact that each individual's comfort level with this situation might vary, and to please maintain an appropriate distance away from all guests, even if you personally do not feel it is necessary.

Question

What will food service look like?

Answer

Rest assured that all catering staff will be wearing masks for the entirety of the event. The State of Maryland is currently not allowing buffet-style serving. We have worked with our caterer to adjust our menu to be a plated meal instead. The RSVP section of the website now includes a place to select your preferred meal and note any food restrictions. Please know that cocktail hour will also not have buffet serving, and will consist of passed hors d'oeuvres only by the catering staff.

Question

What if I am not comfortable attending the wedding?

Answer

Our #1 priority is the safety of our friends and family. We trust that each guest will make the decision they are most comfortable with, knowing that every person's situation is unique. If you need more information to help make your decision, or would like to talk things through, please don't hesitate to reach out to us! We love you all no matter what.
