How We Met

Ever since middle school at First Baptist Church Bradley and I have been in the vicinity, same friend group, same church trips. However, how we saw each other from middle school to high school is completely different in each other's eyes. In middle school, I had a crush but Bradley "wasn't ready for a girlfriend, let's wait". So from there I never mentioned having a crush again and we just continued being friends. Bradley will say it was always his plan to wait till high school, he began inviting me to his lacrosse games, introduced me to his parents and we started going to regular movie dates. Maybe he was telling the truth, maybe he really was waiting for the right time. I'll never really know but I do know that I have had a crush on Bradley since middle school and now we are engaged. Bradley and I have always been good friends and that friendship only became stronger when we started dating in high school. Bradley and I are best friends and it has been so fun to weave each other into our different lives. If you are taking the time to read this then I know you care about Bradley and I and have most likely spent time with each of us. I can't thank you enough for always being kind and receptive to each of us as we have worked towards this part of our life - marriage.

The Proposal

Rachael and I discussed marriage A LOT while we were dating. I think because we were both very much in love and knew without a doubt that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. My plan was always to pop the question soon after we graduated. Originally, Rachael was set to graduate with her undergraduate degree one semester before me. This would have messed with my timing, so I crammed 19 credit hours into one semester so that I could graduate with her in December. Roughly three days passed after graduation and Rachael was wondering where her ring was! Little did she know I had a custom ring being made for her since November! The ring wasn't supposed to be ready until December 27th, but when I got the call that it was ready on the 20th I knew Christmas night was the night. After all the Christmas festivities commenced I took Rachael to one of her favorite places. Nights of Lights was in full swing in St. Augustine and as we were walking around under the lights hand-in-hand the ring was burning a hole in my pocket! I stopped and asked her to do me a favor. Naturally, she said no. But, after she laughed and asked what it was I knelt down and pulled out the ring. She was so elated and overcome with excitement I had to remind her to say yes as she was jumping up and down and tears started to fall. It will be a moment that we will share and remember forever!
