Not many people know about our actual engagement as we wanted it to be as intimate and private as possible. Last May, Andrew and I spontaneously took a road trip to the west. With absolutely no plan, we turned the back of our VW Tiguan into a bed and went for it. Our first destination was Dillon, CO. We found the perfect camping spot right off of the blue river. We were surrounded by forest and snow caps. The view was beyond picturesque. Exhausted from a 16 hour drive and just before sunset, Andrew looked at me and with zero hesitation asked me to be his wife. He didn't even have the ring yet. But it didn't matter. I knew from the moment I met him that I wanted to be his partner for life. That night we held eachother under the stars completely content. We were whole. The next morning, Andrew brought me to a tree along the river. He carved our initials into it. It was perfect. We continued on to Taos, NM, Flagstaff, AZ, and finally Sedona. We fell in love all over again. We knew Sedona would be the place where we would exchange vows and promise ourselves to one another.
