It all began years ago, back in middle school, when Rachael was a 7th grader and Aidyn was an 8th grader — two kids just trying to survive braces, bad hair days, and the chaos of adolescence. Neither of them knew who they were yet… but Aidyn did know one thing for sure: he liked Rachael. They both ran cross country, which meant early mornings, endless miles, and the kind of running form only a mother could love. Aidyn was usually one of the first to finish every race, while Rachael was more of a “slow and steady wins the race (eventually)” kind of runner. One day, Aidyn finally worked up the courage to jog beside her — an act of bravery that impressed everyone except Rachael, who was mostly worried he’d get shin splints running at her pace. Fast forward to high school. Aidyn tried again, this time older, cooler (in theory), and still head over heels. Rachael, however, wasn’t quite convinced. The timing just wasn’t right, and Aidyn would have to wait a little longer for his shot. Then came the summer before Rachael’s senior year of high school and Aidyn’s freshman year of college — and that’s when everything changed. Rachael finally decided to give him a chance. One date turned into another… and another… and honestly, they just never stopped going on dates after that. From that summer on, life became one big adventure together. They’ve made it through one year of long distance, two years of “medium distance” (close enough for road trips, far enough to miss each other constantly), one trip out of state, one trip out of the country, and countless little weekend getaways all over Texas. They’ve shared birthdays, holidays, finals weeks, and plenty of spontaneous late-night dessert runs — laughing through the chaos and finding joy in every season. Over three years later, these two are more in love than ever — engaged since August 2025 and counting down the days until forever officially begins. They’ve grown up together, cheered each other on through every challenge, and learned that love isn’t just about grand gestures — it’s about showing up, every single day, with faith, laughter, and a full heart. As they both prepare to graduate college and step into the next chapter of life, Rachael and Aidyn can’t help but look back and smile at how far they’ve come — from middle school teammates to soulmates. They give all the glory to God for every step of the journey: every moment of timing, every answered prayer, and every little nudge that led them right back to each other. What started as two unsure middle schoolers on a cross-country team became the greatest adventure of their lives — a love built on friendship, faith, and an unshakable sense that this was always meant to be.
