Drew and Katie met in their sophomore year of college, surrounded by their friends at a weekly “family dinner” hosted by Katie’s college house. Their first moments together involved playing Wii MarioKart and talking about lacrosse. They were immediately drawn to each other, yet spent the next 5 months becoming really good friends - during which Drew was working on his rizz and Katie was oblivious to her HUGE crush on him. After a long winter break of texting each other nearly every day, Drew asked Katie to get lunch. He told her about his feelings and they promptly started dating. They watched many Blacksburg sunsets, played lacrosse and volleyball, studied in the library, and escaped to the New River to swim. Drew visited Katie at Sugar Magnolia (for the free ice cream, or for Katie…?) and Katie came to all of Drew’s BYX formals. Their 4+ years of dating have consisted of many adventures guided by their mission of deepening their love for Jesus together. In the Fall of 2025, Katie and Drew actually broke things off. It was a year that came with many changes and a true reckoning of what marriage really meant. They thank God often that He brought them back together 3 months later and redeemed their relationship with His unfailing love. Now, Katie and Drew cannot wait to end their 2 years of long distance by getting married! They will live in Knoxville, TN and seek to foster a welcoming home full of grace, love, and service to God. They invite all their friends and family to visit often and keep in touch as they enter this exciting new life season!
