Of course we met on an online dating app…Sam’s profile shared his love of cooking, so I asked him what his favorite dish to cook was. A few weeks after that initial message (and a few really great dates later), he cooked his favorite dish for me - Rosemary chicken. Months later I found out that same dish was actually the first meal his dad prepared for his mom, they have been happily married for over 30 years. Since that initial message, Sam and I have made a life together filled with yummy meals, traveling the world, and loving the simple moments in between.

What started as a simple first date at a little brewery in Denver has turned into the most amazing life together here in Brew City. That first night was filled with laughter and easy conversation, a preview of everything our relationship would become. My friend Brandon had actually recommended Raíces Brewery, since it was where he took his now-wife on their first date (there must be something lucky in that beer!). We stayed for hours, sharing stories and beers, and by the end of the night, I was hooked. I knew Abbie was going to be part of my life forever. Fast forward to today, and we’re still spending our weekends exploring breweries, only now in Brew City aka Milwaukee. We’ve built a life we love in our cozy 1920s bungalow, a home that still has all its original charm. The walls are filled with art and mementos from our travels, and the kitchen has seen us create countless dinners, everything from our classic guacamole to rosemary chicken to the latest recipe from a new cookbook we picked up on a trip. Abbie never stops inspiring me to love harder and live life to the fullest every single day.
