There are many hikes to lakes in the area including Dream Lake, where we got engaged! There are a variety of trails, ranging from beginner friendly to moderate hikes like Alberta Falls. SO MANY PLACES TO EAT! A quick search on Yelp will surely cure anyone's hunger whether outside the park or in nearby Estes Park. PLAN AHEAD for hikes though; timed entry reservations are required and fill up quickly. Check about a month ahead to secure a good time slot just to be safe!
Plenty of essential Colorado views on endless hiking trails. Rocky Mountain National Park is nearby, both featuring nature focused sights to see! See why we decided to move here!
Just outside of Estes Park on Highway 34, the original Colorado Cherry Co has been serving the community for four generations. They make jams, jellies and pies of course, individually sized and perfect to share. They have just opened another location in Denver but check their website for more.
Feel like exploring the southwest parts of CO? Observe wildlife in a 140 acre zoo, feed giraffes and get closer to hippos than ever before. Quite a bit of walking but worth the day!
Shares a parking lot with the Denver Botanic Gardens- could hit both in one day!
Various trails depending on your hiking preferences!
Dog-friendly trails with shaded areas to sit down!
Open to the public regardless of shows happening at this venue. Worth the trip to see!
Beautiful displays of flowers, architecture and history. A very nice place to walk around and enjoy seasonal flora.
Psychedelic museum is a must see. Make sure to get your timed entry ahead of time!
Tour the largest single-site brewery since 1873.
Ever been to a spot that's 3 restaurants in one? Atomic Cowboy/Fat Sully's/ Denver Biscuit Co is for those of us who just can't decide but are definitely hungry for some good food. Casual spot featuring just ONE burger (rightly so, just trust it)- pizza all day, and handmade biscuits served till 2 pm. Portions are serious business, come hungry!
Authentic Mexican spot for a great price! A small spot that gets pretty busy but service is quick. Run by latinos who make some MEAN birria tacos! One of the food spots that convinced us that we didn't have to give up the Mexican food we loved so much in LA by moving to Colorado. We still come here very often!
Another Latin food spot that tastes just as it should! A Cubano sandwich or Pan con Bistec with maduros or tostones on the side is the way to go. Lots of locations!
