WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I WANT TO EXPLORE THE CITY?

Visit the "Things to Do" page to find our recommendations for activities and restaurants to visit in Detroit! Note: the NFL draft is taking place in Detroit the weekend of our wedding. You can venture downtown to explore the festivities, but expect it to be bustling and busier than usual.

CAN I BRING A DATE?

Answer

As much as we would love to say, "the more, the merrier!" we are only able to accommodate those addressed on the invitation. Thank you for understanding!

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE OF EVENTS?

Answer

Please plan to arrive at the ceremony at least 15 minutes early to find your seat. Doors Open: 10:45am | Ceremony: 11:30am | Reception: Immediately following the ceremony until 4:30pm. We will take some pictures with our families following the ceremony, but we expect to arrive at the reception within the hour after (so there won't be a significant gap between the ceremony and reception). We'll do our first dances upon entering the reception, then enjoy a meal and time with you!

WHAT IS THE CHURCH ADDRESS AND WHERE CAN I PARK?

Redeemer Presbyterian Church is located at 4800 Grand River Ave, Detroit, MI 48208 There are several parking locations just a short walk from the church. The main lot is located immediately next to the church (off of 15th Street). In addition to this lot, there is one across Grand River Ave. Additional free street parking is available on 14th, 15th, 16th, and W Hancock St. Be sure to adhere to posted signage, avoiding bus stops and fire hydrants. We do suggest arriving a little early to provide yourself with enough time to find parking and walk in.

CAN YOU TELL ME A LITTLE MORE ABOUT THE RECEPTION VENUE?

Answer

The Durfee Innovation Society is located at 2470 Collingwood St, Detroit, MI 48206. This venue is only 10 minutes from the church and just North of the Boston-Edison Historic District. We recommend mapping your route to pass through Boston-Edison. It's a fantastic neighborhood to explore. You're in the right place once you arrive at a large, historic school building! Durfee was once a school, but Life Remodeled renovated it into a community hub. Life Remodeled turns iconic buildings into centers for non-profits that invest in the growth and development of the local community. All proceeds from wedding events go back into serving the city of Detroit. By celebrating with us, you're helping cultivate a thriving community and a healthier Detroit!

WHERE CAN I PARK AT THE RECEPTION?

Answer

Wedding guests can park in the fenced in parking lot at the Durfee Innovation Society (accessible from La Salle Blvd). Please note there will be a security attendant in the parking lot and in the building. Once in the lot, you will enter the venue through the door nearest to the lot.

I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY. HOW CAN I LET YOU KNOW?

We want to be careful with your allergy! When you RSVP on our wedding website, please let us know about your allergies. You can also text Emily at 734-612-4479.

CAN I BRING MY CHILDREN?

Answer

Unfortunately, outside of our immediate families we are unable to accommodate children over the age of one. You are welcome to bring your infant, but please note there will not be seating accommodations available for babies. If you do plan to bring your little one, please let Emily know so we can track attendance numbers in advance.

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

At this time, the hotel is not providing a shuttle to and from the hotel to the ceremony.
