Lido Isle
Did you know that there are 7 small islands that make up Newport Harbor? Lido Isle is one of our favorites, known for local shopping and dining. Alexandra loves the restaurant Zinque, and Andrew loves the rooftop at Lido House Hotel. If you want to get active, it's a great place for biking and paddleboarding as well.
Shaw's Cove
If headed to Laguna, skip Main Beach and opt for one of the many gorgeous coves to the north and south. Our personal favorite is Fisherman's Cove, but Shaw's cove is more easily accessible and equally as beautiful. Fun fact: we spent our engagement weekend at Hotel Joaquin and Shaw's Cove.
Crystal Cove State Park
Both the hiking and the beach are equally stunning at Crystal Cove State Park. If you are staying at Pelican Hill Resorts, this area is easily accessible and a great place to spend a day.
Joshua Tree National Park
Near and dear to our hearts, and the location of Casa Flamingo (our Airbnb project) - take a day trip to this unique slice of desert, known for the famous Joshua Tree.
Newport Landing Whale Watching
Fall is the best time to see humpback whales off the coast of CA! You can find plenty of good whale watching tours on Groupon.
Disneyland & California Adventure
While the wedding is adults only, Disneyland is located just around the corner, if you want to make your trip a family vacation. We are more than happy to help with local trusted sitters for wedding-related events.
Balboa Peninsula & The Fun Zone
The Peninsula is a three-mile stretch bordered by Newport Harbor on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. It’s famous for the beach, the boardwalk full of shopping and dining, and the Fun Zone - a great place to spend a day with the kids. Be sure to grab a famous Balboa Bar.
Laguna Beach Art Tour
Visit the 100+ art galleries and installations throughout the city of Laguna Beach on a self-guided tour. You can ride the Laguna Beach Trolley for free throughout the city and hop on and off at your leisure.
