Travel Note
Our wedding is at Château Les Carrasses, a 19th-century wine estate nestled among vineyards in the south of France, about 25 minutes from the town of Béziers. To make planning easier, we've outlined three suggested routes from the US.
Flight
The route: 1) Fly from the US to Paris (CDG or ORY). Many direct flights are available from major US cities. 2) Make your way to Gare de Lyon, the train station for southbound departures. From the airport, you can take the RER commuter train, a taxi, or an Uber – about 45–60 minutes depending on traffic. 3) Board a TGV high-speed train from Paris Gare de Lyon to Béziers (4-4.5 hours). The ride is scenic, passing through vineyards and villages as you head toward the Mediterranean. 4) From Béziers train station, take a taxi to the château (about 25 minutes). If you'd like to explore the region on your own, rental cars are also available in Béziers. This option is great if: You'd like to spend a night or two in Paris before or after the wedding, or you enjoy train travel and want a relaxed, car-free journey. Booking tip: Reserve your TGV tickets in advance at sncf-connect.com for the best prices and seat selection.
Flight
The route: 1) Fly to Montpellier (MPL). Most itineraries connect through a European hub like Paris, Amsterdam, or London. 2) From Montpellier, choose your preferred way to reach the château: A) By train (simple and quick): -Take a taxi from the airport to Montpellier Saint-Roch train station (about 15 minutes). -Catch a regional train to Béziers (40–60 minutes, with frequent departures). -From Béziers station, take a taxi to the château (about 25 minutes). B) By rental car (most flexible): -Pick up a car at Montpellier Airport. -Drive about 1 hour 15 minutes to Château Les Carrasses. This option is great if: You prefer a smaller, calmer arrival city than Paris and want either a quick train connection or the flexibility of a car.
Flight
The route: 1) Fly to Barcelona (BCN). Several US cities offer direct flights. 2) From Barcelona–El Prat Airport, make your way to Barcelona Sants station (about 20 minutes by airport train, bus, taxi, or Uber). 3) From Barcelona, choose your preferred way to reach the château: A) By train: -Board a train from Barcelona Sants to Béziers (about 2.5 hours; typically a few departures per day). -From Béziers station, take a taxi to the château (about 25 minutes). B) By rental car: -Pick up a car at the airport or near Sants station. -Drive about 3.5 hours up the Mediterranean coast into the Languedoc region. This option is great if: You've always wanted to visit Barcelona, or you're coming from a city with convenient direct flights to BCN.
