Quinn and I are high school sweethearts who met on the night of Quinn’s 17th birthday, and from that night forward, our relationship began! Quinn and I spent high school making countless memories together - proms, homecomings, tending to Quinn post-bunion surgeries, lacrosse games, high school ‘date nights’ getting frozen yogurt and going to the lookout, and going to backyard parties with our friends - to name a few. Eventually, we found ourselves with the college decision looming ahead. As luck will have it, we both decided to go to Miami University in Oxford, OH! Quinn studied Speech Pathology and I studied Finance. At Miami, we built more memories and life long friends to enjoy college with. We spent our time going to fraternity and sorority formals together, studying in King Hall, exploring new cities like Nashville, Cincinnati, and New York on weekend trips, drinking too many trash cans at Brick Street (our favorite bar), and so much more. As college came to an end, our two year long distance journey began. I started my Navy training pipeline in the Florida panhandle and Quinn began the next steps to accomplish her goal of becoming a Speech Pathologist at Arizona State University. Overnight, our time spending nearly every day together shifted to FaceTime calls and weekend trips. Despite the challenges of long distance, we kept our relationship alive! Quinn did the brunt of the work visiting me nearly every long weekend she had. During our weekends together, we spent our time enjoying all 30A had to offer. Most of our time was spent being beach bums, exploring Rosemary beach, eating acai bowls, making homemade dinners together, and catching up on all of our time apart. I spent my holidays back home in Phoenix with Quinn and visiting her extended family in beautiful Whitefish, MT. During this time, I began planning my proposal to Quinn. I initially planned to propose to Quinn during November or December of 2022, but in August my timeline quickly shifted after finding out I’d be given time off in just a couple of weeks. In need of some advice, I gave the Maid of Honor, Quinn’s sister Arden, a call to figure out the details. I quickly started putting my plan into motion. After a flight home, an important conversation with her parents, and securing the bling, all was set for asking the big question. On September 9, 2022, I proposed to Quinn at the Royal Palms resort in Phoenix, Arizona. We immediately called family and friends to share the big news. After somehow getting Quinn off of the phone sharing the news, we enjoyed a celebratory dinner, bottle of champagne, and weekend stay by the resort pool. It was an incredible weekend that we will never forget. This past May, Quinn received her Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology and moved in with me, to our townhouse in San Diego. Now, we are reaping the benefits of a new beach town while planning for the BIG day! Quinn and I couldn’t be more excited to get married in front of you all, the friends and family we love the most. See you at El Chorro - get ready to celebrate!
