Our Story

We met in 2011 in marching band at the University of Wyoming. Although we knew each other and got along well, we never truly hung out or became friends until 2016 when by chance we were two of three people from our marching band generation still living and working in Laramie. It was obviously meant to be! If you know Tom, you won’t be surprised that his proposal involved a comedy bit. Chelsea gave Tom a hard time about not proposing around the holidays. So, Tom began to offer EVERYHING “for marriage,” saying, “if you accidentally say yes then I’m off the hook.” He would say, “here, have this water for marriage. Have this bread for marriage.” And on, and on, and on. This happened for at least two weeks. Then one Monday, the first day Chelsea went back to work after Christmas break, Tom offered to cook dinner. Of course, he said, “here, have this spaghetti for marriage.” Chelsea of course said, “no,” even when he tried to wrap a noodle around her finger. Then he said he had some special brownies (that his mom had made the day before). IMMEDIATELY after dinner Tom asked Chelsea if she wanted a brownie. When he brought out a tupperware filled with brownies he said, “have these brownies for marriage?” Again, Chelsea said, “no.” But this time Tom said, “are you sure?” And when Chelsea opened the tupperware, there was a ring box with all of the brownies. BEST MONDAY EVER. We are so excited to celebrate with everyone, and begin figuring life out together!
