Our Engagement Story

5.31.2025

Proposing to Quincy was something I’d always wanted to make truly unforgettable. The Priest Lake house has always been a special place for us—a peaceful escape filled with countless great memories—so it felt like the perfect setting for one of the most meaningful moments of our lives. Wanting to make the day even more unique, I planned a surprise floatplane trip since neither of us had ever been in one before. With a few calls and the incredible help of Lynn and Cory Yost, I had a pilot lined up and managed to gather all of Quincy’s favorite people—without her having a clue. When the day came, I picked her up with flowers and told her we were grabbing lunch at Subway, which just happened to be near our pilot’s hangar. She was surprised—and definitely suspicious—but I loved watching her anticipation build. Once in the air, she even got to fly for a bit, taking in the stunning views of the lake we love so much. As we approached Priest, the pilot did a few touch-and-go landings before flying over the south end, where family and friends had beautifully arranged white roses on the beach. When we circled over the house, Quincy spotted the setup below—her eyes filled with tears, and I could feel how special that moment truly was. As we landed and stepped off the plane together, surrounded by the breathtaking scene our loved ones had created, I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. After she said yes, we celebrated inside the house with everyone who helped make it all possible—a night full of love, laughter, and memories we’ll cherish forever.
