(Brianna) We met at the Kingdom Hall in Greer, SC. Quin would visit his sister, Victoria, during the summers. My friend and I were encouraged to reach out and make Quin feel welcomed at our congregation. I was happy to do it because I thought he was handsome and I’m so thankful that I did. Little did I know, I was meeting my lifelong best friend that day. He was so nervous when we were talking to him, but the more I got to know him, I saw that he was genuinely a spiritual, sweet, and humble man. We started off as friends and hung out whenever he came from Atlanta to visit and that turned into the best friendship I could ever ask for. Years later, our friendship grew deeper and we starting dating after I graduated from college and fell in love. (Quin) It was a nice summer day, I was visiting my sister. There, I ran into this beautiful girl who came up to me and introduced herself. From there my heart raced and my body shook as I stumbled to say my name. But the more I kept talking to her the more at ease I felt. From there we started a strong friendship and an unbreakable bond. At the time, I lived in Georgia and she lived in South Carolina and she wanted to focus on school and her studies, so we remained good friends for years. Our friendship developed into a love story years later we've been inseparable ever since then.
(Brianna) My family told me that I was going to take family photos with my niece Holland. They made sure that I had my hair and nails done. I didn’t know at the time, but Quin made sure my day started with getting my makeup done early in the morning. Then he had my best friend Ilse drive me around town on a scavenger hunt to each of our special “first '' moments like the place we had: first kiss, first time saying I love you, first date, first fight, and our favorite date night spot by the lake. At each stop, he made a special video message about our good and not so good times and how we managed to always make the best of our situation. Throughout each stop and each drive, I can’t even describe how I felt other than how much I’m blessed to have a man like Quin. This scavenger hunt was like falling in love with him all over again. My sister Me’nique and Ilse drove me to the last stop at Overmountain Vineyards in Tryon, NC. I was blindfolded and driven to the vineyard. When I was finally allowed to take off my blindfold there were our friends and family standing holding roses and our favorite song “Love” by Musiq Soulchild was playing. I think I was supposed to walk slowly to each person to receive a rose, but honestly all I wanted to do was get to Quin. He had a beautiful setup of roses and even customized/engraved wine bottles with my favorite white and red wines that had pictures of us that said “Brianna Burnette, will you marry me?” He told me he loved me and has been waiting for this moment ever since he proposed with that Ringpop ring, got down on one knee, and asked me if I would marry him. So of course I said yes, kissed him, and jumped into his arms.
