There is so much to see and do here and we are very lucky to call this city our home! There is lots of yummy food, beautiful art museums (beside the Smithsonians), hilarious comedy shows, expansive book stores, colorful farmer's markets, historic memorials, and waterfront relaxation, just to name a few! We hope you enjoy your time in our favorite city!
Established in 1728 and named for Prince Frederick, son of George II, the city developed as a port and trading center. Its strategic position made it a key location during the colonial era, the American Revolution, and the Civil War. There is a lot of history here -- and we invite you to join us in exploring all it has to offer!
Walk into and around 18th-century house museums in historic downtown Fredericksburg: the Mary Washington House, Hugh Mercer Apothecary Shop and the Rising Sun Tavern!
Beautiful historic streets lined with lots of shopping and eateries!
Join Fredericksburg on the first Friday of each month (so that's June 5th, 2026!) to celebrate all of downtown’s art and community by riding the free trolley and visiting the wide variety of art galleries and studios!.
Enjoy a fun day playing arcade games, laser tag, and bumper cars or hop into one of the amusement-park-like rides!
One of our favorite spots in DC! If you have a spare evening, we highly recommend watching the sunset from here!
Made up of a dozen museums and sites, you can't go wrong visiting any of these *free* museums on the National Mall! Flanked by the Washington Monument and the Capitol, this is a one-stop-shop to see the best DC has to offer. Our favorite museums are the National Museum of Natural History, the National Air & Space Museum, and the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
