Wedding Party

Colleen Ferda

Maid of Honor

The Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority at Grand Valley brought Kelly and Colleen together in 2014. During a recruitment event, the two were paired up to get to know one another and instantly hit it off talking about their worldly travels. A month or so later Colleen became Kelly's "little" (little sister in the sorority) and they became incredibly close. They are basically the same person; always thinking the same thing, have the same style, and in some cases wear the same outfit without planning it! Colleen introduced Kelly to the beloved pumpkin spiced latte & the t.v. show Friends. Shopping & splitting a pitcher of frozen margaritas is one of their favorite big/little dates. Colleen is a diehard football, baseball, & hockey fan. She's an HR queen and a great leader!

Mark Brenner

Best Man

Referred to as Gregs third brother who lived across the street, Mark has been a part of the Quante family for two decades. The first 10 years of their friendship, they spent every weekend possible together playing army in the back yard & building bunkers in the woods. One of the earliest memories of Mark was when he came over ready to swim in the Quante's new pool. He came heavily equipped with a set of full face goggles, an inner tube & arm floaties! He soon learned that he didn’t need all of these things and thankfully today, the only equipment he brings is a bottle of Snapple and a box of Cheese-its. They still see each other very often, spending time boating, shooting guns, & skiing in the winter. Though he may not be blood related, Mark will always be considered Greg's third brother.

Danielle Dewyer

Bridesmaid

Growing up on opposite Peninsulas made it more difficult for Kelly to see one of her favorite cousins (Dani's a native Yooper). However, that didn't stop them from being close. Combined October birthday parties happened often in their younger years. The two always had to match everything from purses, to their Amazing Allie dolls, & even their own outfits. When they were pre-teens they started a band called the Funky Monkeys, unfortunately they didn't produce music or perform, but the ideas were flowin'. When Dani came down to visit, the girls loved going to Michigan's Adventure theme park & swim at the State Park. Now that they are both in their mid 20's, they enjoy beer/wine festivals & dancing the night away at concerts! Dani is a free spirit & isn't afraid to set sail on any adventure!

Geoff Quante

Groomsman

The brother closest to Gregs age. They have grown up together and have shared a lifetime of memories thus far. From eating go-gurts in the bath tub as kids to carving up the ski slopes as teenagers. They’ve done a lot together, each in their our own style! Geoff has always been one to charge ahead over the hill or get higher on the swing set. Growing up he had no fear and a "do first ask questions later" attitude. Often times Greg found it hard to keep up! They fought often, but got along and loved each other just as much. Greg's life today would not be the same if Geoff were not there woven throughout it. Today they may live further apart, and not talk to each other as often as they once did, but that doesn’t keep them from still being close brothers and friends with one another.

Kayla Miston

Bridesmaid

Kelly and Kayla met in 2nd grade at Franklin Elementary School however, they didn't become close friends until 6th grade when they both cheered for the Mason County Raiders. Girl scouts, 4-H, softball, & volleyball were some of the clubs/teams the two enjoyed doing together throughout Jr. High & High School. The two loved to get scared! They would watch horror movies in Kayla's basement (she had an impressive collection) & enjoyed going to Cedar Point's HalloWeekend along with local haunted attractions. They also shared a love to dance! They've traveled to numerous places together from Nashville, to New Orleans, to Fort Worth Texas! They love planning trips together & always pack awesome car snacks! Kayla is passionate for helping others, undoubtedly why she chose the healthcare field!

Max Smith

Groomsman

Greg and Max's friendship was forged on the backpacking trail in the Smoky Mountains of West Virginia. Max- a friend of Kevin's helped kindle Greg and Max's friendship while on the hiking trail. Max has always been appreciated for his carefree attitude and his willingness to always lend a helping hand wherever it may be needed. Greg and Max continued to build their friendship on their second backpacking trip together- this time at Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimmaron, New Mexico. Even after High School graduation Greg and Max kept in contact with one another, always making sure they'd see each other at least a few times a year- usually with Kevin and Sully. Today, Max lives in Wisconsin and he and Greg stay in contact, always looking forward to their next adventure together.

Jordyn Walicki

Bridesmaid

Jordyn is one of Kelly's oldest friends as they met at South Hamlin Elementary School . They were both involved in Girl Scouts & went on numerous trips with the organization. Mackinac Island was always a favorite. The two played basketball, softball, and volleyball throughout Jr. High and High School together. Music is something very important to them, wheather it be Hip Hop, Country, or Elvis! Jordyn had a birthday party at her house one year and her Dad DJ'd old school R&B, it was epic! Jordyn, Kelly, and Amanda have enjoyed numerous concerts together including the Faster Horses Country Festival and were even in Chase Rices music video to Let It Roll! It may have only been for a second and it may have been dark but still counts! Jordyn is an incredibly strong woman and has gentle soul.

Sullivan Brock

Groomsman

Going to High School the first day of Freshman year was one of the most terrifying days of Greg's life. In a school of 2,000 students he knew only a few- but Sully made it easier. A few weeks before, Greg's mother got a tip from his aunt that this boy named Sullivan whom she cleaned their families house for was also attending the same school as a freshman. So Gregs mom drove him to Sully’s house & she introduced them. They grew very close in high school. Yearly Kevin, Max, & Greg make the trip up to Michigan Tech to see Sully and commemorate the moment at the local water hole- The Keweenaw Brewing Co. They enjoy fishing together and talk about guns, hunting, & whatever crazy project Sully was working on. His knack for making things & his willingness to try something new is very inspiring.

Amanda Wingelaar

Bridesmaid

Kelly and Amanda's paths crossed in Jr. High at cheerleading tryouts, which turned into 7 amazing seasons. They were base partners for stunts & could throw up just about anything they tried. One practice, Amanda accidentally spit in Kelly's face while holding up a full extension and the two just laughed while keeping a solid stunt 2 1/2 feet above their heads. Besides cheer, the girls loved doing softball, volleyball, and track together. Crafting & baking became their go-to hobbies. The giant chocolate chip cookie became their signature. Amanda introduced Kelly to a number of up and coming country artists, which was followed by concerts and meet & greets. Being roommates at GVSU for 2 years, they had alot of opportunities to do so! Amanda has a big heart & loves to make others laugh!

Kevin Sims

Groomsman

Greg first met Kevin in the 9th grade in Mrs. Walters 6th hour history class. What exactly was said or what went on in that class between them isn’t exactly clear. What he does know, is that the friendship that was forged in that class would remain resilient for many years to follow. Kevin can be best described as the proverbial skeptic, always level headed and wanting to know exactly how things work. This suits him well, as today he is an accomplished engineer at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn. Kevin’s presence has always been welcome as his sense of humor and his chatty behavior have never been taken for granted. He makes for a great late night euchre partner, and a fishing boat captain while traversing the shallow waters of the Muskegon River.

Garrett Quante

Candle Lighter

Garrett is undoubtedly the mascot of the Quante family. As a young kid, Greg would spend hours setting up a 2,000 piece army men diorama- Garrett would crawl into the room & destroy it all within a matter of seconds. He would often get back at Garrett in the ways that older brothers usually do, often times being caught in the act by their ever watchful mother. As Garrett leaves for college taking the next step of his life, Greg & Garrett will always remain supportive of one another and lend each other a hand when needed. Today he is often seen wearing jeans, cowboy boots, a plaid shirt & aviators. There is no doubt in our minds that this Space Cowboy will accomplish his goals in life to become a Navy fighter pilot and eventually an astronaut all while wearing his beloved jeans and flannel.
