How soon should I book travel?

Answer

ASAP… If you are flying into Helena, book your flights and especially your rental car months in advance as they have limited options. This airport only has 3 gates. If you're flying into a larger airport (Bozeman, Missoula, Billings), there will be more rental car options and flight times available.

How big is Montana?

Answer

Bigger than you think… please MAP EVERYTHING. Towns are far apart and there is little in between them. Drive Time from Helena: Bozeman - 2 hrs Missoula - 2 hrs Glacier NP - 4 hrs Kalispell - 4 hrs Yellowstone NP - 3 hrs Denver - 12 hrs

Is there a hotel room block? Where should we stay?

Answer

There is NO room block or specific hotel to stay in. There are lots of Marriott, Hilton, and other options near the airport in Helena. So far, family is booking here: FairField Inn by Marriott: 2150 11th Ave, Helena, MT 59601

What towns should I look to stay in for Airbnb/VRBO or hotels?

Closest Towns: Helena and East Helena FAR AWAY (Do Not Book for the night of the wedding): Bozeman, Missoula, Kalispell, Butte, Townsend, Boulder

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

We recommend a rental car if you don't have prior transportation arrangements.

Answer

What should I wear?

Answer

You can't over dress, but please keep your most casual to jeans/boots and sundresses. Please no tennis shoes or ball caps. Sunglasses are recommended. The Ceremony is in a grass meadow - please plan footwear accordingly. Bridesmaids will be in rust-colored, formal dresses & groomsmen in suits. Our immediate family will be in formal attire.

We will have an open bar that we are “DIY”ing with servers. But, it might not have everything. Feel free to BYOB if you have a favorite drink!

What is the weather in Helena/Clancy?

Answer

Labor Day is still summertime in MT, but nights get cool. And, we will be in the trees/mountains. Ceremony is outdoors with dinner & dancing inside. Pack layers. Highs: 70-85, Lows:45-55

Helena sits at 3,996ft -- less than most of Colorado
