Markeith and I met at work in 2018. We were complete strangers who were in a season of personal transition, development, and growth. So, it took us by a bit of surprise when we connected. One day, during one of our conversations, Markeith gathered the courage to ask me out on a date. My response: ‘Let me think about it.’ lol I prayed and talked to one of my best friends and my Mom about the date before accepting. God gave me this indescribable peace about it, and my Mom and best friend encouraged me to open up to the possibility of something amazing. After about a week and a half, I accepted his request but on one condition: that it be a lunch date. He kindly agreed, & on February 7, 2019, we had our first date at Breaux’s Bridge in Columbus. After that, Markeith and I began to talk more consistently and learn about each other. He was so patient with me and fully embraced me, and I did the same with him. Soon after, we met each other’s families, and he asked me to be his girlfriend. Some time passed, and we began discussing what a future together would look like. After 2 years of courting, Markeith decided to propose. He truly believed that God had spoken to him about me being his wife from the very start. At this time, I’d just received a promotion on the job, and our families decided to throw me a congratulatory party. Little did I know, Markeith had already gotten my Dad’s approval and had been speaking with our loved ones about the ring and his plans to propose. Our families saw the congratulatory party as the perfect opportunity to help him orchestrate a beautiful surprise. On February 5, 2021, Markeith asked me to spend forever with him in front of family and friends, and I said YES! Our love has been so peaceful, refreshing, and truly reminds me of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8. It daily reminds me and him both of God’s faithfulness and is blossoming into something quite wonderful.♥️
