It's approximately 15-20 minutes away from downtown. Ubers and Lyfts are readily available at the airport. They are recommended if staying downtown as parking is limited. No rental cars are necessary, Charleston is an easy, walkable town. If you feel like exploring the outskirts of the town, Ubers are still available to reach them and rental cars are available at the airport if you wish.
