Just twenty minutes from Boulder and an hour from the airport, Golden is the perfect place for a casual day in the mountains. Start the morning with a hike in Mt Falcon (great views and very family friendly) then swing by Bob's Atomic Burgers (Pyper's favorite) for a classic burger and malt lunch. One of the most famous ski resorts, 'Breck' is just as fun in the summer. The cutesy mountain town hosts a casual shopping area, beautiful hikes, and free gondola rides. If you're in Colorado, don't waste your time in Denver unless you have time to kill before a flight. Some of our favorite neighborhoods: LoHi: Trendy and walkable with lots of fun restaurants, including Wooden Spoon Bakery (Pyper's favorite) and Uncle Ramen (Adam's favorite) Cherry Creek: shiny new shopping district with fun stores and restaurants. Aviano Coffee is one of Pyper's favorites, and both love Quality Italian for a fancy night out
All certified by Pyper. Check out the AllTrails App for directions Upper Maxwell Falls Loop; Evergreen, CO: Fun and quick for families or beginners. Very easy but unpaved with some hills Eldorado Canyon State Park: Stunning state park by Boulder, but advanced reservations are required on weekends. Wide range of difficulties available, but just driving through is beautiful. Recommend Fowler Trail (For more of a challenge, check out Eldorado Canyon: Eastern Section Hike. No entry fee/reservations with great views of Denver) Golden Gate Canyon State Park: Also close to Boulder, also requires reservations. For easy views, drive straight to Panorama Point for a great lookout. Easy if you have younger kids or want simpler hikes. St. Mary's Glacier: Climb a glacier and touch an alpine lake! Beautiful mountain views at all angles. Pretty quick and great for beginners who want a little bit of adventure. Lots of uphill and uneven ground, but you'll see a lot of families on it.
