A Long Road

As many of you know, we announced our engagement and subsequent planned wedding 2 years ago. We got engaged on 2/21/21 after a whirlwind romance. We'd planned for an end of the year wedding in DR with the plan to live in DR for a while. Halfway through the year, after talking over more of our life plans, we decided to flip it. It made more sense to live the first few years of our marriage in the US in order to better save for our goals. Well, what used to be a simple 3-6 month visa process, with covid, became 21 months of waiting. However, the light at the end of the tunnel is finally in sight. We went through a lot to get here, and with what is probably now our 6th wedding date, this one will finally be possible, as we got approved for our fiance visa on 5/23/23 and his visa and passport was ready on 6/6/23! At this point, we have had backup plan to our backup plan to backup cities, but now we are planning our Summer Solstice wedding in Atlanta. It's possible that we may have a second "wedding" next year on our anniversay in DR so that both our families can attend. We plan on this being a small, intimate, laid-back wedding. If you can't make our actual wedding, maybe you'll attend if we decide to do another. Please keep us in your prayers and we hope you can come see our union. If not, no worries, we'll see you soon, as a FINALLY married couple. xoxo Soluna (I call him Sol, and he calls me Luna. It means Sun and Moon).
