Laura: My knight has been fighting every battle with me. He went on my cancer journey with me, holding my hand, learning how to use my feeding tube and PICC line. He cleaned up after me when I was super weak from transplant. And he helps me each and every day become strong again. His patience is astounding, his love is overwhelming. I'm so blessed that He sent my knight to me.

In 2016 we met at a weekly swing dance in Old Colorado City. We were friends that had a connection from the first dance. After a year, Laura convinced Aaron to come over and go through some of her tools and supplies. She fell asleep on his shoulder watching TV that night. Around week later, July 17th, 2017, was our first kiss.

Timing is everything, but sometimes you just gotta do a thing. Aaron was going to ask Laura to marry him on August 18, 2018, but unfortunately she was in the hospital that day undergoing very intense chemotherapy. He continued to support and visit her... Then, after she got out of the hospital in October of 2018. He made her delicious clam alfredo which she loves. She then proceeded to fall asleep on the couch that night thanks to all the meds she was still on. Little did she know the ring was in his shoe next to the couch... We like going on art walks together in Old Colorado City. On November 2nd, Aaron received a text from Laura saying she would meet him at home instead of downtown so they could ride together. Anxious to get going, she rushed him into the car, destroying the opportunity he had to grab the ring. They had a wonderful evening and after getting back to the house, Laura was sitting on the couch with the pets. Aaron knelt down and proposed right there saying, "since its all souls day, I can't imagine a soul I'd rather spend the rest of my life with." Her heart melted, she smiled and said, "wait, for real?!" and put on the ring. Maybe she will say yes by the wedding day! ;)
