Parents of the Groom

Seyrah Smith

Maid of Honor

My "I-can-never-be-taller-than-her-even-in-6inch-heals" friend. We've known each other for five years. Though we don't see each other as much as we'd like, we always seem to come back into each other's lives just at the right times. Medical adventures, dating stories, and cuddly movie nights; what would I do without her to always be there to pick me up. (And make the best cheesecakes in the world!)

Aaron Jakos

Best Man

Aaron and I have been best friends since Mrs. Wojnowski's 2nd grade class. What started with Legos, bike rides, exploring the bluffs behind the neighborhood, and going through college at UCCS, has remained a great friendship through time and distance. Aaron, as well as his brother Nick, have always been more than friends - they are my Brothers.

Amy Kucera

Bridesmaid

Friend since 2010, she was the first friend I made when I moved down to Alamosa for college. That semester she was teaching printmaking. But soon I had the joy of working with her in the print shop. Being the amazing photographer that she is, we have done gallery shows together and explored secret abandoned areas on campus. Still here for me 10 years later, she is a blessing in my life.

Adrian Johnson

Groomsman

Adrian was another friend I have had since Mrs. Wojnowski's 2nd grade class. Hanging out and playing games, playing field hockey, getting mugged at Halloween - we have certainly been through good times and bad together. Adrian and Sherri have been like family to Laura since we first started dating, and he has always been a brother to me.

Cynthia Ernzen

Bridesmaid

Cynthia is one of my longest lasting friends. We met in high school and while my memories of that time are faded, I still have a few distinctive ones: Writing a story together during geometry class, passing notes, and always seeing her smiling face. We don't see each other as often as I'd like, but every time we hang out we pick up where we left of and just continue with the love and trust.

Liam McKanna

Groomsman

I met Joh... Liam in Mrs. Pope's freshman year English class. A fellow Dungeons & Dragons nerd, we spent many a long night rolling dice and drinking Mountain Dew, watching movies, and painting miniatures. One of my first trips with Laura was to go to Washington state for a visit, and it was great to explore Seattle and Port Townsend with him. I'm happy to have him back in Colorado where we can do such fun new things as rolling dice, watching movies, and painting miniatures.

Genevieve Jakos

Flower Girl

Nick and Laura Jakos (big brother and sister-in-law to the Best Man) have a beautiful daughter. Gen and I met a couple years and her politeness blew me away. I remember having a dance party and reading books with her in her room. And she loves to wrestle my fiancee until he is too tired to move. I am so honored that she agreed to add her love and smiling face to our wedding party!

Christopher Hopkins

Ring Bearer

My Lil'Bro, he has the biggest heart of anyone I know. My longest friend, he's always ready for late night sibling talk, Disney song karaoke, a good movie at the dollar theater, and a hug whenever needed. It would not be my special day without his participation, and his loving approval of his future brother-in-law.

Gabby Alvez

Bridesmaid from Afar

My soon-to-be niece. Gabby and I felt like family from the moment we met. Only a few years younger than me, I get to have the opportunity to be her aunt and a best friend. She has gone out of her way to be here for me through my challenges. Even though she in in Brazil with her new husband, I talk to her often and can't wait for the day she moves back to Colorado so we can do Aunt-Niece things. Her smile lights up my life. -- She is unable to make it out for the wedding because of our crazy world, but I know she will be there in spirit!

Travis Crane

Personal Assistant to the Bride

We met 5ish years ago at a swing dance and since then, any important event in my life would not be complete without him. We tried dating and realized how much that really didn't work, so now we are awesome friends that have had so many adventures together and I'm pretty sure we'd do anything for each other. In our free time together we watch new shows, play games, do art, and move all my stuff from storage around and around his basement. He always wants to help, so what better role for him on this special day than to be by my side from start to finish to keep me sane as he always does.....(or is that drive me insane?).
