About 8 years ago, one of my closest friends (Kristen) helped me get a job at a restaurant. She told me about this guy who worked with us named "John Q" who reminded her of me. I responded, "How's that possible? NO ONE is like ME." She then replied, "That's EXACTLY what he said when I told him about YOU!" That sparked my interest in him. Little did I know that once we met, he would make me laugh during every single shift. As we grew closer, our friendship evolved into romance and we became emotionally invested in each other. After about 3 months, we knew that this relationship was something special. We encouraged, supported and comforted each other during good times and bad. Seven years, multiple vacations, career changes, and two apartments later, John popped “The Question” in front of our families during Sasha's (my sister) birthday celebration. I was shocked! Mainly for two reasons: 1. It was my sister’s birthday, I didn't want to steal her shine. However, she was in on the surprise the whole time. (Thank You Sash!) 2. My family actually kept this secret under wraps for over a month! I couldn't believe it!! Now, as we are planning one of the most important events in our lives, we are excited to share our love and happiness with our closest friends & family.
