We like to think (or Nels likes to think) that it all began 10 years ago at Jessie's high school graduation party. Her parents had asked Nels' band to play live music by the pool for the evening entertainment. Sparks were flying... at least for 8 year old Sophie (Jessie's sister) who sat front row the whole night. Fast forward a few years, post-college, to when we went on our first (10 hour) date. Nels had planned a day full of fun activities - live music, good food, a tour of his college med school frat..followed by a night of dancing at James J Hill days in downtown Wayzata. We then took a five year 'hiatus'... Which brings us to December of 2016. The night our mutual friends hosted what we think was the best Christmas party ever. Nels had just returned from a night out with another date, and Jessie was standing in the kitchen with friends complaining about her recent dating escapades. Nels walked in and Jessie thought out loud, 'I need to date someone like Nels..' to which her friends responded, 'why don't you date Nels?'. Jessie was so flustered by the thought that she ended up tumbling down the stairs in front of him on her way to say her goodbyes...and that's the moment Nels says she 'fell right back into his life.' We went on our 'second first date' a few weeks later...and the rest is history!
