Long ago in a city 3 hours away lived April... loving Seattle after having escaped the clutches of Pullman, WA. Living comfortably "the single life" and working in glamorous downtown she met an amazingly wonderful goober-of-a-person, Rosario (AKA "the Gresham bitch"). Little did she know that (recent transplant herself) Rosario would unleash a chain of events that no person should be forced to witness. Many a time Rosario told April that she should meet Rosario's BFF, Clare, because they were a "perfect match." "No!," April would retort, determined to stay single. Rosario tried to sneak a meeting at a concert in Portland between the two, but Clare discovered her dastardly plan. Content in remaining single herself, Clare promptly cancelled the concert plans. Alas, Rosario's conniving came to fruition when Clare & Co. planned a trip to Seattle for a "girl's weekend." Starting the night early, Clare barely noticed when April arrived at the bar that night with what Clare assumed was her girlfriend. Later in the evening, when Clare asked, "where did your girlfriend go?," April replied, "you mean my cousin? " To which, Clare physically shoved April aside saying, "I'm attracted to you. Get away from me." April thought to herself, "challenge accepted," and the rest is history.

April tried a few times to propose, but Clare always managed to find a way to ruin the moment. Exasperated by all the delays, April found a quiet moment and approached Clare as she was going to bed. She leaned over, said softly, "I got you this." and handed Clare a ring in a box. Clare immediately burst into tears (ugly cry), said "why would you do this to me?," and proceeded to have a panic attack. April replied, "You know you want to marry me. Get over it and figure it out." With Clare refusing to discuss "the incident," April patiently waited for 2 weeks to go by. Clare put her big girl panties on and accepted that no one would put up with her own personal brand of BS as well as April and accepted the fact that she couldn't live without April.
