We met at Taya and Mark Stewart’s wedding where Scott wooed Ashley with his dance moves and Ashley left an impression on Scott with her incredible sense of rhythm. It is possible that alcohol played a part in this equation but a follow-up Facebook message and a few dates later (well maybe more than just a few…), we were inseparable.
Scott bought a home in Kensington and found the best roommate in Ashley. Since moving in together, we’ve filled our weekends with woodworking projects and kitchen renovations (aka relationship building).
We ventured to a farm in Woodstock, VA to pick up our new puppy - a Golden Retriever-Collie mix we named Olive. We very quickly fell in love with her and she has been a centerpiece to our lives ever since. Our princess puppy has made each of our adventures even more fun!
On a sunny day in July, Scott convinced Ashley to go for a hike in Harper's Ferry. She unknowingly suggested a detour to a moonshine and limoncello distillery first. Afterwards, with sweaty hands, grumbling stomachs, and battling summer crowds, Scott spent some time fiddling with his GoPro while Ashley wrangled Olive on the side of the water. Finally, Scott positioned Olive and Ashley to take the perfect photo on the side of the river with the GoPro balancing on a rock ahead of us. While Ashley was screaming “cheese” towards the GoPro, Scott got down on one knee and proposed. And of course, through tears and giggles, Ashley said YES! We are so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in September! xoxo {Professional Photos by Katie Main Design + Photo}
